West Newbury Harbor Master Mission Statement: To maintain the Merrimack River (West Newbury portion) in as clean and safe condition as possible, through the use of the town's pump-out boat for watercraft's sanitary systems, preventing pollution, and by periodic patrol of the river to assure safety of boaters, and others using the river.

Utilization of Pump-Out Boat:

The West Newbury pump-out boat will be available for any duty assignment agreed to by the Harbor Commissioners and the Board of Selectmen. Except in emergency, the Harbor Commissioners must be contacted for prior approval where assistance has been requested from any town department, function of the town or activities involving the river itself. It is the intention of the Harbor Commissioners to be as cooperative as possible with the townspeople, the river community and any other interested parties (such as the Coast Guard, Environmental Police, etc.) while keeping in mind the purpose of the pump-out boat, which is to protect the environment and assist in the protection of boaters and other users of the Merrimack River.

During the late spring, summer, early fall months - to request a pump out of your vessel:
Call the West Newbury Police Department @ 363-1213, or reach the West Newbury Harbor Master while he is on duty on marine channel 16.
