Rockport Patrol Boat The Rockport Harbor Department is staffed by two certified Harbormasters, Rosemary Lesch and Scott Story. Our Assistant Harbormasters are Ron Petoff and Story Reed. These harbormasters have numerous years  of experience in and around the waters of Cape Ann.

Have a look at our new Patrol Boat!

Our boats are a 24’ Boston Whaler Justice, "Alert II", a 22’ Boston Whaler, "Alert I" and a pump-out boat. Rockport has four harbors: the main harbor is Rockport Harbor. Granite Pier and Pigeon Cove, which have both commercial and pleasure boats, are to the north in Sandy Bay. White Wharf is on the northern part of Bearskin Neck. Our floats go in the water in May, and are taken out in mid-October. We welcome transient boaters to our harbor; a phone call or e-mail ahead will assure a spot for the night. There is a $1.00 per foot per night fee for those wishing to stay overnight. Guests in Rockport will be tied up in Rockport's main harbor, dock side in front of the Sandy Bay Yacht Club, or along the wall on the Motif #1. There is an anchorage in Sandy Bay, that on a good weekend, may have 30 or more boats drop anchor to spend the night. Our harbor is small, but we will do what we can to make you feel welcome.

It is strongly advised to have an up to date chart when entering our area. There are several islands and hazards to be aware of, Straightsmouth Island and Thachers Island along with the outer breakwater are just some of the larger navigational challenges when entering the Sandy Bay area. The Rockport Harbor Department invites you to our area either for an overnight or just a day trip.  Call on channel 9 when entering our area. We will switch to channel 19A as a working channel for further instructions.
