The Nahant Harbormaster Department consists of all part time employees.  The Harbormaster has 8 assistants and routine patrolling of harbor and coast line is done on weekends during the summer months.  The Harbormaster is also the Director of the Ocean and High Angle Rescue Team.  This team consists of 12 members that have all received extensive training and have been certified by Ocean Rescue Systems, Inc. of Portland, Maine.  The Harbormasters Department has a custom built Eastern 22 for law enforcement purposes.
